Furniture Care & Maintenance

Taking the correct care of your furniture will increase its lifespan dramatically!

Indoor Furniture

  • Do not drag furniture as this can loosen or break legs.
  • Placing furniture in direct sunlight may cause colour fade/lightening.

Wood

  • Use damp cloth with warm or neutral detergent to clean the surface. Do not use wet soaking cloth.

Veneer

  • Use damp cloth with warm or neutral detergent to clean the surface. Do not use wet soaking cloth.

Upholstered Fabric

  • Turn cushions and fluff pillows regularly.
  • Use a damp cloth for marks and if possible, remove cushion cover to wash for tougher stains.
  • Use furniture care products only as regular household detergent may cause more damage.
  • Seek professional cleaning service for tough/hard to remove stains.

Leather

  • Use a vacuum cleaner with brush nozzle/piece.
  • Use dry cloth first then add mild soapy water (not soaking) to the cloth. Use leather care products for tougher stains.
  • Use leather cleaner regularly to enhance its beauty and lock in the wear and tear marks that give leather its uniqueness.

Garden/Outdoor Furniture

Teak

  • It is recommended to clean your teak once or twice a year with a teak cleaner to remove accumulated dirt.

  • You may apply a layer of Teak Oil or Linseed Oil onto the wood frame every 6 months for better preservation of the wood.
  • Use Teak Oil or Linseed Oil to prevent the wood from drying out.
  • Clean spills and grime off the wood as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
  • Use damp cloth with warm or neutral detergent to clean the surface. Do not use wet soaking cloth. DO NOT POWER WASH.

  • The oil content of Teak wood naturally repels moisture and mould but if it does occur, use a specialised Teak Cleaning Product.
  • Avoid moving the piece from a cold garden to heated indoor area storage, as high temperature or humidity changes may cause the wood to split.
  • Ensure that the furniture is covered with a breathable furniture cover.

Wicker with Aluminium Frame

  • Use warm or neutral detergent to clean the surface.
  • May be hosed down or cleaned with mild soapy water for tougher stains.
  • If any residue accumulates on the exposed aluminium, it can be removed with a stainless steel cleaner.

Outdoor Cushions

  • The UV fabric on the cushion is fade, water and chlorine resistant and specifically designed for outdoor use.
  • Do not allow water to pool on the cushions, as evaporation will leave watermarks.
  • If your cushions get wet, stand them on end, with the open zipper or seam side down, to help drain the water and speed the drying process. Make sure the cushion's foam core has completely dried before using.
  • To prolong the life of the fabric cushions, we recommend storage in dry covered conditions when not in use (such as the winter months).
  • Cushion covers are machine washable, we recommend a cold, delicate wash once a year/ season. If covers are washed excessively you may strip it UV properties from the fabric. Spot clean the fabric with a wet sponge for tougher stains.
